AGAINN Spring Menu

Earlier this month, I was invited along with other local food bloggers and writers to AGAINN–pronounced ‘aguinn’ [a-g-uin]–to sample their Spring Menu. AGAINN does right by the term Gastropub with a warm atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, accessible menu and great food!

New Capitol Riverfront Market

Per a press release from the Capitol Riverfront BID, a new market is on the way this May!
The new Capitol Riverfront Market, offering fresh produce and locally prepared foods, will open Thursday, May 6th and operate from 3 pm to 7 pm weekly through November at the intersection of New Jersey Ave., SE & M St., SE, adjacent to the Navy Yard Metro (New Jersey Ave exit). Free Coffee & Sweet Treats on Apr. 15

In addition to the usual $10.40 offers that surface around 4/15 a.k.a. Tax Day, there are a few places in the DC area where you get free stuff tomorrow.

Since it’s part of most people’s morning commute, this is an easy one from Starbucks. The Sweet Clementini

Of course, anytime is cocktail time. One might argue that the classic cocktail party is more appreciated during the colder months when people gather together to keep warm. And like cookies, cocktails are a sometimes treat. I won’t deny that I enjoy a good drink, but I won’t condone them becoming a bad habit.

That said, I present the Sweet Clementini. An easy-to-sip martini, sweet and tart with a hint of citrus and the color of a lazy Southern sunset.

Lunch at Bourbon Steak DC

Ever since the amazing dinner at Bourbon Steak DC, there was no question that I’d be back, but it’s not the kind of place one can visit every day. Still, when a friend was celebrating a birthday with a Four Seasons spa day and lunch to follow, I couldn’t resist joining.
